Canning Butter and Chicken

Toni and I talked a bit yesterday about canning things that we don't usually can. Great if power goes out to your freezer/refrigerator! If anyone else wants to take a look at this website we found here it is!

  2. I'm glad you are excited about it too! I read that the best way to do the canned butter is to buy your butter on sale, put it in the freezer and stock up until you have enough to do a decent batch. Do you think would should get a group of us together and try this?

  4. So far it's me, you, Toni and Melinda that want to get together and can butter. Melinda says that the cheapest place to purchase the butter is at Sam's Club. It's around $1.50 or so for 1 pound. If anyone else wants to join us, let me know!!

  9. Okay, how about next Thursday (March 19th) at 2:00. My house. Bring jars and butter! 1 pound of butter will do just over 1 pint.

  10. Thanks again Kristy for letting us come and bottle butter. I should have probably shaken mine one more time, but it firmed up too fast on me. But I still think it looks pretty good and I'm excited to try it!
